We Are Supra. There’s something about Los Angeles, California. Maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s the laid back vibe. Whatever it is, the city’s siren song has a way of mesmerizing and pulling in creatives from all over the world. McFlyy was drawn to LA for the culture and the energy that the city is known for.

Out in LA dreams are bigger.

McFlyy’s story is like many before him. He was drawn to LA for the culture and the energy that city is known for. Out in LA dreams are bigger. “I packed up everything I had, like $800, rented a U-Haul and drove out here.” And just like that, an L.A. legend was born.

Because when things got going, they started moving fast. “After a few months I had my first art show at DOM Gallery on Fairfax and Melrose, and ever since then everything started clicking.” McFlyy’s impact was immediate. The shows became more frequent, his work gained a following, and he hasn’t slowed down since. Just as important, he’s hit a personal stride. “The L.A. art scene is really open. I try to surround myself with dope people that really want to create. Everyone out here really wants to be a part of something and change the culture.”

Sure, it’s impossible to miss the influence Japanese manga and anime have had on his work. Bright and sometimes bombastic, its energy is infectious. Ask the artist himself and you’ll discover there’s no shortage of inspiration from his adopted home town, particularly on the fashion front. “You come out here and people aren’t afraid to show their real selves. When I design my characters I put them in the dopest, most fashionable clothing they could possibly wear. I like to tie that look from LA to a Tokyo vibe.” The perfect Southern California weather doesn’t hurt, either. “I was born in London where it rains all the time. The same in Miami. In Atlanta it was too hot. Here the weather is just right. If you want to go outside and paint, it’s perfect every time. You can spray paint, paint on the canvas, everything.”

While he fills his community with first class street art, his work never stops at his own creations. “Creating art is very special. You get to influence other people with your own visuals. And what you see with your eyes goes straight to your soul, and being able to present it to the world is dope to me.”

He even travels the globe to teach and encourage kids to express themselves visually, something he finds lacking in schools.

So what keeps the man coming back to this place? “Every day I wake up in Downtown L.A. to a nice view, being able to create and move freely. It’s really what I love about the city.”
